The End of the Project and Kids Thank You Notes

I made it through to the end of the project. I have a draft that I started to write about the issues that I faced along the way, but I'll deal with that later. There is a lot of complicated feelings about how this project went. The failures, the things that I had to overcome, and the successes. Many feelings and anxieties came up as I learned my way through this class. One thing I had to learn was to see things from a standpoint of the very kids I was working with. English language learners still think in their native tongue and therefore come across as if they are not at grade level. These are things we need to have patience with. I know how I would feel trying to learn to write in Spanish. It is very difficult until you understand the nuances. Anyway, I am giving a break now that the project is complete.

Here are a few thank you notes the kids and their teacher wrote and handed me today.
