I'm not left handed, though I tried very hard to be one when I was a kid. I'd practice writing, twisting my arm so that it curled up and over the page as if I were hiding my words. I've always liked that technique left handers use. My Mother once told me that she felt she was left handed as a child, but was told it was wrong and she was trained to do everything with her right hand. I don't recall her saying the word sin, but she was told it was wrong for sure. She had the most beautiful handwriting for using her right hand. I wonder what her handwriting would have been like if she was allowed to use the hand that came natural. And I wonder if it would have made a difference in her life choices. We'll never know.
We all point out things in others that we feel strongly about. He's bad, she's good, this is right, that is wrong. There is a way to learn to accept each other, however at this point in history, it is the most difficult thing to do. I have no words of wisdom other than learning is constant, pain comes to us all, that when you think you are the only one who is experiencing something depressing and difficult, there are others around you who are experiencing much worse, but don't say a word about what they are going through. If you saw their life, you'd see that your pain and suffering are nothing in comparison and you'd perhaps be sorry for making such a big deal out of it. We can't take anything at face value. We can't take silence as agreement, we can't think we know how another feels, and we will never understand some people, period.
Writing with a left hand seems like such a small sin compared to other sins. But when I think about how we could shun a left hander, tell them they weren't allowed to be a part of our lives because of their left handed ways, they might have chosen to hide their left handedness. And in doing so, they would grow resentful of those having a happy right handed life around them.
I'm now recalling how Martin Luther said to SIN BOLDLY. I think he has a great point. Let your freak flag fly. Be out there with yourselves. Be left handed and be proud of it.
